Dr. Katharine Johnson grew up in San Angelo, Texas and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Trinity University in San Antonio. She then received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed a residency program in Pediatrics at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas before specializing in Neonatal Medicine at Brown University in Providence, RI. After completing her Neonatology Fellowship, Dr. Johnson returned to San Antonio and joined Pediatrix Medical Group as a Neonatologist in 2012.
She is board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She currently works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Children’s Hospital where she also leads the Family-Centered Care and Quality Improvement teams. Dr. Johnson is passionate about helping the community of South Texas improve the health and safety of all infants. She serves as a founding Board Member for Baby Education for South Texas.
